Felipe Gomez

Felipe Cardenas Gomez was born in Cerro Colorado, Colima, Mexico on May 26, 1936 to Jose & Fransisca Gomez. In 1962, he married his first wife of 6 years Guadalupe Solis (deceased.) They had three children Teresa, Yolanda & Hector. In 1975, he married Maria Elena Sepulveda with whom he had 3 children Claudia, Melissa & Diana. Felipe worked in agriculture for 42 years. He was a hard-working man that loved to spend time with his family & friends. He liked having BBQ’s, watching boxing matches & soccer games. He took great pride in his garden & landscaping his home. One of his favorite things to do was tell funny stories about his youth to his children. Felipe was loved by many and touched many lives. He is preceded in death by his parents; Jose and Fransisca Gomez, his siblings, Esperanza, Jose, Crescenciano & Teodocia. He is survived by his wife Maria Elena Gomez & his kids Teresa Morfin (Javier), Yolanda Oriz (Angel), Hector Gomez (Yasenia), Claudia Vasquez (Adrian), Melissa Williams (Jordan) & Diana Gomez. His grandkids Kevin, Janice, Jorge, Karen, Eduardo, Monze, Rochelle, Isaias & Dalilah, and close family friend Martha.His siblings, Juan, Consuelo, Irene, Engracia, Bertha and Amelia. Viewing and visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 15, 2014 with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Saint Josephs Catholic Church in Sunnyside followed by graveside services at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. A reception will be held after graveside services at Saint Joseph’s gymnasium in Sunnyside. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in care of all arrangements.
