Evelyn B. Sheeley Evelyn B. Sheeley, age 82 died November 14, 2015 at Cottage in the Meadow. She was born April 2, 1933 in Columbus, Kansas to Jess and Geraldine Evans. Jess moved the family to Washington at the end of World War II to a hop ranch near Cowiche. She was a graduate of Highland High School where she was a majorette. She married Lou Sheeley January 31, 1954, they shared over sixty years together until Lou's passing in 2014. They loved to travel around the country on road trips and shared their love of music together. Evelyn worked as an apple packer at various warehouses throughout the area for 43 years before retiring. She loved to work in her yard and her flowers were enjoyed by many. She also loved to cook and invite friends and family for delicious meals. Her greatest joy was her family, son Evan and daughter Marla and her three precious granddaughters. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Jess and Jeri Evans; husband Lou; and her brother Jim Evans. She is survived by her children Evan Sheeley and wife Kelly and Marla Gunn and husband Ken and by her grandchildren Lindsay Pike and husband Randy; Kelsey Christianson and Erin Sheeley. Special thanks to Del and Cheryl Miles and the caregivers at Covenant House who took wonderful care of Evelyn for the last year. We feel very blessed to have found you. There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, November 22,2015 at 1:00pm at the Arboretum, 1401 Arboretum Dr. Yakima, WA.
