Evelyn & twin sister Roslyn were born Sept 19,1927 to Jasper & Jenny Kleyn in Zillah, WA. After graduating Zillah High School she met & married Art Schrotenboer on June 3 1949. Art & Evelyn bought a home right in the heart of Zillah where they raised their children & grandchildren until 2005, when they moved to Yakima. Evelyn was the proud owner of Evelyn's Beauty Shop, that she opened inside her home in 1953 She loved her days spent doing hair and talking with all her many loyal & long time clients she had walk thru her beauty shop door. She retired in 2003 after 50years. Evelyn was a fashonista! She loved clothes and loved shopping! She had a great fashion sense! Always dressed to impress. Evelyn was known for being a great cook and loved feeding her family and friends and was known for her one of a kind recipes!! You could always count on her to make Sunday dinners delicious! She was also an avid quilter and would always make the the newest members of our family a beautiful keepsake quilt! Evelyn will be missed greatly by all her friends up at Brookeside formally Alterra-Winwood & her other many many family & close friends. She will especially missed by those Evelyn is survived by...twin sister Roslyn Wesselius, brother Marvin & wife Tressa Kleyn, son Darrel Schrotenboer & wife Stacy, daughter Linda Horton-Barnes, grandchildren Corey (Sara) Soehl, Holli (Anthony) DeLeon, Josh Schrotenboer & great grandchildren Peyton, Ari Ele, Breydon Soehl, Anthony & Anabel DeLeon & Jonathon Schrotenboer. She was preceeded in death by her parents Jasper & Jenny Kleyn, brother Neil Kleyn, husband Art Schrotenboer & great granddaughter Mya DeLeon. Visitation will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah 2-5 PM Thursday, September 24, 2015. Funeral services will begin at 10 AM Friday, September 25, 2015 at Faith Community Church in Zillah with burial at Zillah Cemetery. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
