Evaristo Pruneda Vela passed away on July 6, 2016 in Vancouver, WA. He was born on October 28, 1959 to Nicolas Martinez Vela and Maria Pruneda Vela in Clinton, Oklahoma. As a young boy, he travelled with his large family coast to coast from Florida to California and finally in the state of Washington where the family finally resided. On March 24, 1979, Evaristo married Petra Garza in Wapato, WA. They had 3 children, Estella, Evaristo Jr., and Roselind. Evaristo loved to be with his family, but one of his greatest passion was to be fishing. He had many, many fishing adventures with his family, brothers, cousins, nephews and nieces, with just about anybody who wanted to go fishing. His mother would make him his favorite burritos for his fishing trips. His other passion was driving trucks, which he got from his father. Evaristo made an amazing cheesecake that everybody loved! Evaristo is survived by his wife, Petra G. Vela, his children, Estella (Kyle) Gray; Evaristo Jr (Tiffany) Vela; and Roselind Vela; his 6 grandchildren, Jackson and Andrew Gray; Michael, Malloree and Derrick Vela; and Elliot Nelson; his mother Maria P. Vela; his siblings, Eutimio (Isabel) Vela; Isaias (Helen) Vela; Arturo (Rosa) Vela; Ricardo (Cristina) Vela; Casimira (John) Escobedo; Nicolas (Delores) Vela; Benita (Claudio) Garza; Aurora (Miguel) Rodriguez; Luis (Thonna ) Vela; Marylou (Raul) Marquez; Elias (Sofia) Vela and Jesus (Jamie) Vela; his Tios, Tias, cousins and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Nicolas Martinez Vela, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lino and Petra Garza, his brother Nicolas II, his nephew Avito Vela and his niece Claudia Marie Garza. Overnight vigil will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 5 PM till 8 AM Sunday at the Templo Cristianode Alabanza, 1031 McDonald Rd., Toppenish, Washington, and Sunday from 5-7 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Monday at the Christian Worship Center in Zillah, 204 Cheyne Rd. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.
