Evangelina Contreras

Evangelina Contreras, 78, of Toppenish died Sunday, June 23, 2013 in Yakima. Mrs. Contreras was born in Mexico, October 9, 1934, to Juan and Marina Bolboa. She lived most of her life in Granger and worked as a caregiver. Evangelina loved to cook and sew for her family and listening to music. Survivors include three daughters, Maria Elena Bracamontes of Mexico, Anna Maria Montes of Pasco, Olga Contreras of Toppenish; four sons, Juan Contreras of Pasco, Santiago Contreras of Grandview, Jorge Contreras of Harrah and Ivan Contreras of Toppenish; and 25 grandchildren. Evangelina was preceded in death by her husband, Jose; sons, Jose and Ruben Contreras and her daughter Eva Marina Contreras. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Zillah. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Toppenish. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.
