Eva Bishop

April 8, 1930 — December 15, 2022

On Thursday December 15, 2022, Eva Lilly Bishop returned Home to her Heavenly Father and was reunited with her Sweetheart and Eternal Companion Darrel Keith Bishop. Eva was born on April 8, 1930, in a little white house in Nampa Canyon to Ivan Cunningham and Edith Lillian Summers, where she was kept in a shoe box on the oven door. Eva grew up chasing her 2 brothers Virgil and Merle Cunningham. According to Eva her life started just before her 15th birthday when she answered a knock on the door and there stood the most handsome guy she had ever met. She married Darrel Keith Bishop on September 28, 1946 and gave birth to their son Jim Keith on their first anniversary. Next came their oldest daughter Sandra Lee and finally the baby Shirley Ann. Eva loved to bake, cook, craft, and sew. She made clothes and diapers for the kids, Shirts for Darrel, and later dresses for her granddaughters. She even had her own drapery shop, where she ran everyone ragged. You were not allowed to bleed on the drapes! The gospel became an important part of Eva’s life. She and Darrel were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 15, 1970. She held many callings over the years and loved the serving the Lord. While she will be greatly missed and always loved by those still here; her children Jim Bishop (Peggy), Sandra Marquis (Scott); her 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, multiple great-great grandchildren, now she is having a celebration with her honey Darrel who passed away shortly after their 59th wedding anniversary, their daughter Shirley, her parents Ivan and Edith, her grandad and granny Summers, her brothers Virgil and Merle, her daughters- in- law Derline and Diane, and many others. A funeral service will be held on December 30, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Valley Hills Funeral home, Located at 2600 Business Ln. Yakima Washington 98908.
