Etta Sheets

Etta L (Hood) Sheets, 89 passed away at home Aug, 5th, 2013 in Zillah WA. Etta was born in Brainerd, Minn. Oct 7th, 1923 to Joseph and Laura Mae (Brady) Hood. She was the youngest of five children. She married Orby Francis Sheets in Tacoma, WA Oct 19, 1944. She was a member of Toppenish Eagles Auxiliary and Toppenish Legion. She loved playing Bingo and sneaking over to Toppenish Casino to try her luck at the slot machines. In her earlier years she was quite the pool shark teaming up with Bud Quigley. She also played on a baseball team with daughters Sharon, Cheryl, Sandy and daughter-in-law Elean. Etta was a loving mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend and will be missed by all. She is survived by daughters Sharon (Sid) Harris of Sunnyside, Cheryl (Bill) Wyckoff of Yakima, Sandy Sheets of Zillah, one son Ron (Elean) Sheets of Zillah. Ten grandchildren Kevin, Kip, Tanya, Tyler, Dillan, Kam, Klayton, Krista, Kylee, Kwinton. Fourteen Great Grandchildren Kristin, Kelsey, Kyle, Zackery, Kathleen, Nicole, Austin,Josh, Konnor, Kassidy, Karissa, Kasey, Korie and Aidian. One Great Great Granddaughter Kaydence, and soon to be born Great Great Grandson Easton. Nephews Bob Brooks (Peggy), Hodge Bayne (Liz), Dwayne, Dennis (Geni), Gregg Sheets, Gerry Ristvet (Jackie), Nieces Laurie Matz (Steve) and Donna Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Laura Hood, husband Orby Sheets, sisters Ethelyn Hood, Hazel Barker, Twin sister Edna Brooks and Doris Ristvet. Special People: Dr.Ricking, Nurse Robin, Bath Aide Michelle, Hairdresser Tracy. Viewing will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 10-5pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. A Celebration of Etta’s life will be at 1pm Friday, August 9 also at the funeral home with burial following at the Zillah Cemetery. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
