Esperanza DeLeon Samora

It's with a heavy heart that we're sharing some sad news about our beloved Mother, Esperanza DeLeon Samora. She passed away peacefully on August 28th, 2026, at the wonderful age 90, in Sunnyside, Washington. She truly left us with an incredible legacy of love and a spirit that will stay with us forever.

Esperanza was born on February 23rd, 1936, in the small town of Fashing, Texas, to her cherished parents, Valentin and Bruna DeLeon. She dedicated her entire life to her family, being the most devoted homemaker you could imagine.

She'll be deeply missed by her dear brother, Valentin DeLeon Jr. (from Casa Grande, Arizona), and her sweet sister, Maria DeLeon (from Yuma, Arizona). Her boundless love lives on through her seven amazing children: Feliciana (and Oscar) Rincon from Phoenix, Arizona; Michael (and Linda) Andrade from Michigan; Guadalupe (and Steve) Schaffer from Fernley, Nevada; Sandra Gallegos from San Tan Valley, Arizona; Frank Javier Cantu from San Diego, California; Carmalita (and Gerardo Sr.) Alvarez from Sunnyside, Washington; and Eddie Samora from Yakima, Washington.

And wow, did she have a family! Her spirit truly shines through her extraordinary 27 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren, and even 2 great-great-great-grandchildren! Plus, all her nieces and nephews held such a special place in her heart.

We're comforted knowing our Mother is now reunited with her beloved husband, Daniel Samora Sr., and her parents, Valentin and Bruna DeLeon. She's also catching up with all her siblings who passed before her: Lucas, Jesus Sr., Cruz, Juan, Manuel, Aucencia Rodriguez, Prudencia Cazares, Rumalda Herrera, and Consuelo Delgado.

While our hearts are definitely feeling her absence, it's a comfort to know our dear Mother is finally at peace. Her incredible love, strength, and all the wonderful memories she made with us will keep her alive in our hearts forever. We'll miss you terribly, Mama, until we meet again. We Love you, Always and Forever.
