Elva Miranda

October 21, 1961 — March 26, 2023

Elva Nora Miranda (61) was born in Toppenish, WA on October 29, 1961. The 9th of 10 children of Ladislado and Teresa Salazar. She grew up in Granger, WA and there she met her husband, Stevan Paz Miranda while working for Radio KDNA. They got married on July 7, 1979 and had two children; Esmeralda Elva Maria Guerra and Stevan Paz Miranda II. They lived in the lower valley raising their two children and would eventually help raise some of their grandchildren. Elva was a very devoted and supportive mother. She volunteered at her children's schools, went to every field trip, and attended every sports game/activity her children were involved in. She was known by all of her children's peers, many of whom would call her "mom". She was lively, loving, feisty, fierce, funny, and determined. She enjoyed watching horror movies, listening to music, cuddling with her dog Love Love, and dancing. She was a small woman with a lot of fight, and most of her life she fought to stay alive for the people she loved so dearly. She was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. All of these roles she fulfilled to her best ability and was loyal to the people she called family. Mom passed away on March 26, 2023 in Yakima WA, surrounded with love by family. She is survived by her children; Esmeralda Guerra (Adam), and Stevan P. Miranda II. Her grandchildren; Solevar X. Nunez, Maraya C. Magana, Ysiah A. Morales, Elizabeth N. Miranda, Devin J. Miranda, Julian C. Morales, and Isabella M. Guerra. Her siblings; Delia Garza, Ladislado Salazar Jr., Rosalinda Torres, Flora Rodriguez, Virginia Dominguez, Alfredo Salazar, Ervy Salazar, Arturo Salazar, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Teresa and Ladislado Salazar, her husband Stevan P. Miranda, her sister Juanita Rodriguez, and her great nephew Nikolas Garza. She has been and will always be, the wind beneath our wings. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Elva Miranda, please visit our flower store.
