In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Fay Reynolds Davenport
March 3, 1934 – May 8, 2025
Beneath the wide skies of rural Logan County, Colorado, Elizabeth Fay Reynolds was born in her
grandmother’s home to Jacob Guy Reynolds and Mertie Debbie Elizabeth (Beckham). The sixth of
seven children, the eldest of twins, and a bright light from the very beginning. At the tender age of
four, she took the hand of her Savior, Jesus Christ, beginning a lifelong journey of faith continuing
until she entered Heaven’s gates on May 8, 2025.
Elizabeth’s journey took her from the farmlands of Colorado to the valleys of Washington State. She
graduated from Wapato High School in 1952, followed by Bible studies at Bethal Bible College,
Canada and graduation from Conquerors Bible College (CBC), Portland, OR.
It was at CBC that the Lord introduced her to the love of her life, James Lee Davenport. On
September 25, 1954, she became his adoring bride—and remained his faithful wife in love, faith, and
ministry for over 70 beautiful years.
Together, they built a family rooted in grace, with Nathan, born in Oregon, Diana in Idaho, and
Kathleen back in Toppenish, where they lived until 1966. That June, the Davenport family moved
permanently to Union Gap, WA, where Elizabeth lived the remainder of her days in the same loving
home.
From 1956, nearly seven decades, Elizabeth served as a devoted pastor’s wife, the last 43 years in
Toppenish, Washington—leading worship, lifting her voice in song, and ministering with gentle
strength. With the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI), Elizabeth served in many
capacities for over sixty years. She tirelessly gave of herself in the pursuit of influencing and guiding
others into God’s Kingdom. She was a faithful supporter of local and district ladies’ events, youth and
family camps.
From a young age being a missionary was a personal dream. She accomplished this by travelling the
world through her Altas. She often said, “just a minute, I want to look that up. Now how do you spell
that…?”. With her prayers and support of UPCI Global Missions and Tupelo Children’s Mansion, truly
achieved her goal. She ministered to her world by giving generously to God’s work. Devoted and
godly, Elizabeth was an example and mentor to many in the UPCI Washington District.
A woman of extraordinary creativity, Elizabeth bloomed wherever she was planted. She beautified
Sears and Roebucks as a designer, and enjoyed creating happiness at Cameo Flower Shop where
she turned work into ministry and coworkers into dear lifelong friends. Though offered a position at
the corporate level, she chose instead to keep her hands in God’s work, crafting arrangements for
weddings and celebrations with love and prayer in every petal. Elizabeth’s faith was steadfast. Her
laughter was genuine. Her hands, always busy with beauty and blessing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Guy and Mertie Elizabeth; siblings Wayne, Leon,
Dale, Charles, and Neva.
Her beloved son Nathan; son-in-law Christopher; and grandchildren Daniel, Trenton, Jericho,
Candice, and Tawna.
She leaves behind her cherished husband, James Lee; daughters Diana, Kathleen, and Joanne; her
twin sister, Evelyn May Stewart
Eight treasured grandchildren; Brandon, Justin, Bryony, Bryson, Nathan, Brittony, Chauntae’, Ariella.
Fourteen precious great-grandchildren; JJ, Christopher, Scout, Jacob, Evelyn, Lincoln, Bryden, Aiden,
Logan, Levi, Skyler, Wesley, Owen, Audrey
All who will carry her legacy forward.
Elizabeth’s life was a bouquet of grace, arranged by God and shared with the world.
You are deeply loved and dearly missed.
Well done, good and faithful servant…
…enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:23
