Elaine Marie Miller, was born on October 16, 1921 to John and Signe Williamson in Lewiston Idaho. She was the oldest of seven children; Donald, Arnold, Stan, Glenn, Louise, and Dale. The family eventually settled in the Seattle area – specifically Federal Way. She was in the third graduating class of Federal Way High School in 1939. After graduating she worked in the shipyards in Tacoma during the early years of WWII until her mom passed away of cancer. At 21 she took on the responsibility of caring for her father and her siblings.
Elaine began receiving letters from a young man named Ernie after her aunt met him at a church gathering. After a 2 two year letter exchange Ernie and Elaine met and became engaged. They were married in 1951 in Federal Way. They made their first home in Spokane where they gave birth to four children, Jeff, Signe, Ervin, and Gaye. When the Spokane economy became depressed the family moved to Federal Way. Elaine was a stay at home mom until the early seventies when she worked part time for the Federal Way School District. After retiring she stayed in Federal Way until the passing of her husband in 1997. In the summer of 1999 Elaine moved to Grandview Washington where she lived with Jeff and Dianna Miller for 9 years. She moved to Sheffield manner for 5 years and lived her last year at Prestige until her death on April 8, 2014.
