Elaine Hall

February 19, 1962 — June 21, 2013

Elaine Marie Hall passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. Elaine was born and raised in Toppenish, WA February 19, 1962 to James and Carollee Wentz. She attended school in Toppenish. She began working at the drive-in window of the old Reeseman’s dairy at the age of 13 selling milk and eggs. Elaine worked for several fast food restaurants including A&W, Arby’s and KFC. She moved to Fremont, CA and Aurora, CO to open new branches. Elaine moved back to Toppenish and began working for EPIC and the Toppenish School District as a cook. She then bought Ed’s Barbecue in Toppenish and sold it after 3 years when she had her first daughter Jenna Rae in 1990. She met and married Russell Hall in 1992 and they had another daughter Tara Jo and made their home in Mabton. Elaine went back to school and obtained her AA and a Pharmacy Tech license, but went to work for the Mabton School District doing her love of cooking. She quit a few years ago with her ailing health. Elaine knew no stranger, and would not pass up anyone in need. Countless times she would buy groceries or a meal for someone she had just met. For years she helped her mom, Carollee, with funeral dinners at St. Aloyius Parish, the Toys for Tots drive in honor of her nephew Tony as well as the Asthma Walk. Elaine is survived by her husband, Russell; daughters Jenna and Tara and mother, Carollee all of Toppenish; three brothers, Jim (Janice) of Yakima, Gary (Colleen) of White Swan, and Bill (Angy) of Zillah; sister, Cheryl of Arkansas, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her dad James and nephew Tony. Viewing will be held June 28, 2013 from 1-7pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Graveside service will be at 10am Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
