Edythe L. Richardson
Edythe Luella Richardson, known to friends as "Edo," passed away at Cottage in the Meadow on February 12, 2018 at the age of 86 years.
A native of Muscatine, Iowa, Edythe moved to California and Texas where she lived and served in the United States Air Force until 1952. In 1960 she moved with her family to Washington State living in Spokane, Yakima and for the last 41 years in Cowiche.
Edythe worked for a number of fruit warehouses in the Upper Valley until her retirement in 1991. Over the years, Edo had many hobbies, from fishing to cooking, listening to national radio and T.V. news shows along with shopping way too much on HSN and QVC which UPS greatly appreciated. She was a devoted supporter of the Seattle Supersonics and an avid fan of the Mariners each grueling season. On game day, Edythe was glued to the T.V. for every Seahawk game since their inception.
Edythe was preceded in death by her 1st husband John F. Mhoon and 2nd husband Lester L. Richardson, her parents Guy Barickman and Mary Reynolds, her brothers Guy Barickman II & Thomas Calhoon, sisters Kathleen Hastings, & Mardelle Nelson and her daughter Donna Rosenberg. Nobody could ever forget Soul and Daisy, her two favorite siblings that were Boston Terriers.
Edythe is survived by her son John Mhoon, daughter Barbara Mhoon Parker and son Dennis Richardson. She is also survived by eight granddaughters: Tami, Megan, Teresa, Nicole, Tara, Kara, Michelle and Savannah plus six great-grandchildren: Kaleena, Andrew, Allison, Caine, Cy, and her latest Gwendolyn. Grandma always said she had enough granddaughters to make a baseball team!
Mom will be greatly missed by all but she is with her Lord Jesus Christ now and will always be in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held this summer for family and friends.
