Edwin Phillip Celestine 60 of Yakima, Washington, born September 28th 1956 in Toppenish, Washington to Hazel (French) and Francis J. Celestine went to the creator Monday July 31st, 2017 in Wapato Washington. Ed attended schools in Toppenish, Washington, Oakland, Ca., and Wapato, Washington where he lettered in football and track. Ed played basketball in the ā€œCā€ squad division on the LIONS basketball team coached by his dad, also playing on numerous other basketball and baseball teams which included the Parker Dam Bigfoot Braves / Pink Panthers coached by Roland Jack Spencer. Ed attended Central Washington University for one year. He had previously worked for Washington State Department of Forestry, YN Housing, did labor work and landscaping, firefighting crew leader under the Washington State Forestry and the Yakama Nation, Auto mechanic. Ed enjoyed watching sports activities, as he was an avid fan of the HOME town teams, Seattle Sonics, Mariners and the Seahawks and the Wapato High School Football teams. He also enjoyed watching the little league baseball games. Ed was a member of the Yakama Nation and proud descendant of the Snoqualmie, Upper Skagit and Lummi tribes. Ed is survived by his mother: Hazel Celestine of Wapato. Brothers (Francis) Dale Celestine, Danny Celestine, Tim Celestine and his good bro, David Gonzales. Sisters: Connie Celestine/Riley, Jennifer and Nelson Iukes, Sandra Celestine and Angela Celestine Saldana, Numerous Nephews, Nieces, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Ed was predeceased by his father Francis J. Celestine. Brothers, Donald, Darwin, Darryl, and Mark Celestine. Maternal Grandparents, Donneth and Abel French Sr. and Paternal Grandparents Christine and Francis H. Celestine. Arrangements are being made by Valley Hills Funeral Home. Dressing service will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato at 11 am and following burial at the Zillah cemetery at 1 pm.
