Edward White

Edward Leonard White peacefully left his earthly home for his heavenly home on February 23, 2023. Ed was born in Bremerton, WA on February 9, 1943 to Leonard and Arlene White. He grew up in the Yakima Lower Valley and attended Granger High School and graduated in 1961. Prior to that, he snagged the beautiful Linda Mae Dunsmore and put a ring on it in 1962. Shortly, but not too soon after they welcomed three children to their family, Brian White (Staci) of Auburn, WA, Daro Johnson(Michael) of Gilbert, AZ and Kari Mathison (Dan) of Yakima, WA. Their family grew to include their much adored grandchildren, Anthony White (Bridget), Jordyn McNiven (Michael), Jed Mathison (Dayana), Zachary Johnson (Allison), Blake White, McKenna Johnson (Waylan) & Corbin White. And great-grandchildren Harlyn, Camryn, Kaden, Aurora, Alessandra, Blair and Elizabeth. Ed began his career at Cascade Natural Gas in 1963. He held a variety of positions with the company. He entered as a clerk, was a branch manager for several locations and ended his career as the Director of Field Operations. He moved his family to many different locations in Washington and Oregon state. He retired after 46 loyal years. In childhood Ed learned to tap dance and play the piano. His real love was horses and was quite the cowboy with many rodeo ribbons under his belt. Ed's enjoyment in life was working on projects. He built several houses and raised a barn or two. There wasn't a thing he couldn't fix. In his spare time he loved to fish and tell a joke or two. Viewing will be held Saturday March 4, 2023 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Valley Hills Funeral home, 2600 Business Lane, Yakima, WA 98901. A service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yakima, WA on Monday, March 6th, 2023 at 10:00 am. and graveside service at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA. at 2:00 pm In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research. Ed will be remembered by many family and friends.
