Jollie
Edward C. Jollie, (Mick) age 89, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on March 13, 2024, at Cottage in the Meadows with his family by his side. Ed was born on February 25, 1935, in Belcourt, North Dakota. He was an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians and the eldest of 8 siblings. He fled the nest at 17 and enlisted in the Navy and served in the Korean War for 4 years.
He married Lois Thompson on May 13, 1961, in Yakima, WA, which is where he raised his family. Dad worked for the Post Office until his retirement which was many years. He loved golfing and watching it on tv. Every Sunday was his day. Dad and Mom loved to dance and enjoyed going different places. He had a funny sense of humor, and grandchildren love it.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois, parents Virginia LaFrance Jollie and Robert O. Jollie. His sister Virginia May Jollie and brothers John A. Jollie and Jim J. Jollie.
Ed is survived by his daughters Amy (Greg) Wingerter, Debbie McKinley, Diane Strock and a son Kevin Thompson. Grandchildren Alexandria Doucette, Travis Strock, Austin (Nikki) Strock, Erinn (Shane) Gallagher and Ally Wingerter (Daurius Pati). Great grandchildren Brooks and Oakland Gallagher, Harlan Doucette, Everleigh and Callahan Strock and Myla Pati. His brother Bob (Karen) Jollie. Sisters Karen (Ray) Patnode, Colleen Jollie and Tara Jollie. Many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima, WA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima, WA. Burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima, WA.
