Eduardo (Ed) Cervantes went to his place in heaven on Saturday July, 22, 2023.
Eduardo was born in Edinburg, TX on July 16,1944. The eldest son of Maria (Morales) and Silvestre Cervantes,
Ed attended schools in Texas before the family settled in Grandview in his youth where he participated in football (nicknamed The Bullet by his peers) and wrestling. He graduated in 1963.
Ed attended University of Washington and returned home to be a supportive son. He worked at Flodin’s and other companies before starting at Hanford where he worked for over 25 years in various roles through Carpenter’s & Boilermaker’s Unions until his retirement.
He was married to Shirley Martinez for several years until their divorce. A few years later he married Judy Koch whom he was married to until her death. He is survived by his step daughter Melanie and his grandson Victor, and stepsons Scott and Terry and granddaughter Anna. Later he was married to Maria Vega for a brief few months, then divorced.
Ed had many hobbies and loved life, family and fun. One of his passions for years was to go out with his friends for days and go elk and deer hunting, crossbow hunting & fishing.
He will be sincerely missed by all, especially by his sister Erma Linda (Robert) Marquez, and brothers Silvestre Cervantes Jr (Dorothy) and Erasmo (Juana) Cervantes. He is survived by his nieces & nephews that always held a special place in his heart Vanessa (Edwin) Frias, Isaac (Chi Pham) Cervantes, Robert Marquez (Samantha Hamilton) & Damien Marquez(Jeanette Hernandez). Nicole (Mac) Moore, Andrea Cervantes &Lucas Cervantes, Felicitas (Gabriel) Moreno, Lita Cervantes, Cole (Amanda Taylor) Cervantes and Jamie (Trina) Garcia. He is also survived by his beloved Aunt Lupe Urbina and Uncles Manuel (Lydia) Morales & Juan (Julia) Morales and his goddaughter Leah Bridges.
He is preceded in death by his sister Genoveva Hernandez and brothers Jose, Leonel and Abel Cervantes.
