Edith Marie Parker nee Good – 78 years (December 14, 1946 – March 30, 2025)
Edie was born to Jake and Elizabeth Good (Vervoorn) in Ojai, CA. Edie met Richard Parker, her life-long
love and shortly after, they married and relocated to Seattle.
Edie, a long-time resident of West Seattle, retired as a para-educator from the Highline School District
and loved her time working with young children, who all adored her. After retirement, Edie and Richard
moved to Prosser in 2006.
Edie had a happy life and adored her family. Edie’s favorite hobby was needleworking. She made many
baby blankets for newborns, as well as crocheting and knitting afghans for many people over the years.
She also enjoyed sewing and cross stitching and was always a perfectionist in her crafts.
Edie always had a smile on her face and was quick to engage with others for a good time, and willing to
lend a helping hand to all.
She hosted many Fourth of July picnics at her home and her instructions to others were “Come Early and
Stay Late”.
Edie loved having family and friends around. She was a loving, caring person and had a memorable
impact on all she met.
Edie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 30, 2025 after a long hard-fought
illness.
She is survived by her husband, Richard of over 60 years, as well as her son, Richard Jr. and daughter-in-
law, Jennifer. Grandsons; Kevin and Andrew (Jasmin) and one great-grandson, Opal. We all love you
Bama. She leaves behind many family members and friends and will be missed by all.
