Edgar Saluskin

Edgar Saluskin was called home by our creator on January 15, 2017. Edgar spent his latter years of life at the Nisqually Nursing Home. He was born to Alex Saluskin and Lizzie Woods on April 17, 1924, and was a member of the Yakama Nation. Edgar served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Edgar was a professional cowboy in his younger life competing as a bull rider and as a saddle bronc contestant. He also learned to be a commercial chef. He exercised his treaty fishing rights on the Columbia River. He also spent many months on various fishing boats fishing and as a cook. Edgar is survived by his children, Rebecca Louse Saluskin, Edrene Gayle Saluskin, Beverly Ann Saluskin, Very Douglas Saluskin, Vaden Davis Saluskin and Karma Faye Saluskin; his sister Videlle Bronson and brothers Charles Tappo of Pendleton, Oregon as well as step sister, Virginia Beavert of Eugene, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, William Saluskin Joseph Saluskin, Rudy Saluskin and a son, Devery Martin Saluskin. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in charge of funeral arrangements. There will be a prayer service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 9:00 AM. From there he will be taken to McCoy Cemetery.
