Durry Hartoon, a long time resident of Yakima, passed away at home. He was born in Bend, Oregon to Perry and Imo Hartoon. He was preceded in death by sisters Evelyn Pheiffer and Barbara Tommiser, his brother Ron Hartoon, and his parents.
He was a self-employed plastering contractor before becoming a homebuilder under his business, Hartoon and Sons.
Durry liked camping, fishing, boating and trips to Ross Lake and Hood Canal. He was a long-time head usher at Englewood Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife Donna; three children, Cathy (Jim) Oliver of Richland, Tom (Cheri) Hartoon of Yakima, and Carol Hartoon (Eric Lillywhite) of Bellevue; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at Englewood Christian Church this Saturday, March 30 at 1 PM. Inurnment at Tahoma Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Englewood Christian Church or donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.valleyhillsfh.com.
