Doyle J. Wetmore December 19, 1917 – July 29, 2014 Doyle J. Wetmore, 96, of Naches, passed away on July 29, 2014. He was born in Vermillion, Canada on December 19, 1917. His folks moved here to work on the building of the Rimrock & Clear Lake Dams for the Bureau of Reclamation. He graduated from Tieton High School and in 1938 married Cleora J. Amos of Cowiche. They were together for 74 years. In 1946 they moved from Tieton to Naches and soon after, he was instrumental in starting & acquiring land to form the Naches Boot & Spur Club. Over almost 50 years of play days, rodeos, & cowboy breakfasts were held, not only to maintain the club, but donating money to the community, such as building the Naches Swimming Pool. Doyle retired from Boise Cascade as a heavy equipment operator in 1980. He is survived by a daughter, Darlene (Denny), a son, Dale (Susan), 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cleora, and son, Darrell. There will be a memorial gathering on August 16th from 1-4PM at the Applewood Park in Naches. Valley Hills Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
