Dorothy Louise Lowry Cullen Dorothy Lowry Cullen was born June 11, 1928 to John B Lowry and Lois (Anderson) Lowry at their home on Hudson Rd, in Outlook Wa. She passed quietly on March 7, 2025 surrounded by her family. Dorothy attended Outlook School graduating 8th grade in 1942 and High School in Sunnyside in 1946 as a member of the National Honor society.
On October 7, 1946 Dorothy married Harold R Cullen at the First Christian Church Parsonage in Sunnyside. They made their home for 5 years in the home built for her parents on Hudson Rd.
In 1953 they moved to the Independence Rd farm previously owned by the Anderson Family, but then owned by George Cullen and Sons and operating as a Red Poll dairy. In 1957, Harold and his brother Ned Cullen started the Hi-Line Jersey Dairy in which both families were active until 1981. Harold & Dorothy raised 5 children on that dairy. Dorothy joined the Outlook Grange in 1942 where she was treasure for many years and held several different offices over the years.
She was a Charter member of the Jr. Indelook Club in 1949, a service club named for its members proximity to Independence Rd and the town of Outlook. She was a 4-H Leader for the Sunbonnet Lassies for 18 yrs, joined the TOPS//KOPS Club in 1969.` Dorothy also held part-time jobs at the Granger Bait Company in Granger, was secretary at the Outlook Irrigation District as well as worked on the Committee for the annual Outlook High School Reunion for several years.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband and sweetheart Harold R. Cullen in 1996, her parents, and her sister Marjory Cullen of Outlook who died in 2024 ( at 97 yrs).
She is survived by her 5 children: two sons, Earl Cullen and his deceased wife Joyce of Sunnyside, John and Karen Cullen of Outlook: three daughters, Toni (Darrell) Geary of Klickitat, Renee ( Joe) Kessinger of Klickitat and Cindy ( Rick ) Allen of Sunnyside.
She is also survived by 2 sisters: Karleen Meyer and Donna (Jim) O’Conner both of Kennewick. Grandma Dot was blessed with multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that made her precious family grow. Mom is also survived by her friends and staff at Sunnyside Assisted Living.
