Doris Elliott

Doris Jean (Heintzman) Elliott, Doris Jean Elliott died on January 16, 2023 at Cottage in the Meadow, with her family by her side. She had a courageous fight but after a long battle of complications from diabetes, she went peacefully to meet her maker. Doris was born to Bernard and Kathryn Heintzman in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She met her late husband, Stan Elliott in Yakima, Washington. Following their marriage, they moved to Petaluma, California in 1954. In 1974 they moved their family of 7 back to Yakima. Doris enjoyed fishing with her late husband, Stan. She also was a marvelous seamstress and quilter. Sewing quilts for her grandchildren and friends any chance she could. Doris will be missed as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Doris is survived by her 5 children, 3 sons Bernard and wife, Shari, Ronald and wife, Jeri, Michael, and wife, Kim, 2 daughters, Kathy Thayer and late husband Doug and Jean Elliott. Doris also leaves behind 10 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 30 great grandchildren, 3 younger sisters, and 1 brother. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Stan, 1 sister, 3 brothers and also her parents Bernard and Kathy Heintzman. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
