Donald Thompson

Donald Thompson age 73 of Yakima passed on March 29, 2017. He was born July 31, 1943 to the late James and Dorothy (Ulrich) Thompson. He is preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Ronald Thompson and his two sisters Hazel Cavin and Lois Jollie. Donald grew up in Yakima. He attended Naches High School. He entered the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Donald married Norma Flowers on September 25, 1976. Together they shared 8 children: Kerry (Shelley) Conrad, Rob (Stephanie) Conrad, Sabrina Edwards, Dawn (Douglas) McGiness, Hope (Scott) Hiscock, Brian Thompson, Crystal Thompson, and Jamie (Kari) Thompson. Donald enjoyed doing puzzles, yard work, building things, and spending time with his family. Donald is survived by his wife, eight children, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 5 brothers: James (Vonnie) Thompson, Jack Thompson, George (Sue) Thompson, Larry (Kay) Thompson, Rick (Pam) Thompson; 2 sisters: Maxine Mohar, Janice (Dan) Gefre; and many nieces and nephews. We would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Chandler House and Cottage in the Meadow. Viewing will be 2pm-5pm, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Valley Hills Funeral Home (2600 Business Ln., Yakima). Funeral will be 12noon, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
