Donald Scott

Donald H. Scott, 74 Donald H. Scott, 74, passed away Friday July 17, 2015 at Garden Village in Yakima, WA. He was born September 10, 1940 in Yakima to Otto Denzil Scott and Virginia Lee (Bias) Scott. Following graduation from Zillah High School, Don joined the Navy and was assigned to duty in California and Hawaii. He went into mechanics training at Perry Trade School, and managed a service station in Toppenish. Life became difficult as a disabled veteran, but Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health provided him with needed support at Gleed Orchard Manor and Garden Village. A sincere thank you goes out to all staff members. Don was preceded in death by brothers, Denzil Scott, Jack Scott, Wallace Scott, Gary Scott, Deward (Buzz) Scott, and one sister, Jean Bainter. He is survived by nephews, nieces and their families: Greg (Adele) Bainter, Lauren Bainter, Jeff Bainter, Haley Bainter, and Brett Bainter; Anita Garcia and Cathy Servis; Brian Scott, Tamara Mathews, Marilyn Scott; Monette (Brian) Dennis; Deandra, Andrew and Jonathan Scott. Don’s happiest moments were spent at gatherings with family and discussing sports with his friends. Don was a kind and gentle soul, patient and soft spoken. He will be fondly remembered and missed! Arrangements were made by Valley Hills Funeral Home of Zillah. Graveside services will be held at Zillah Cemetery on Thursday, July 23, at 2:30PM.
