Donald B. Palmer July 19, 1939 – August 11, 2026

Donald B. Palmer, 87, of Chehalis, Washington, passed away on August 11, 2026. He was born on July 19, 1939, in Seattle, Washington, and lived most of his life in Chehalis.

Donald proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Hamilton, New York, where he was rated Expert with the M-1 rifle and received the Good Conduct Medal.

He spent his working years at a cannery and on dairy farms. Donald was known for being stubborn and always speaking his mind when something didn't sit right with him — but just as well known for his love of telling stories to family and friends, who could always count on him for a good one.

Donald married the love of his life, Faye Palmer, and the two shared more than 40 years of marriage before her passing in 2021. Together they raised six children: four from Faye's previous marriage, and their two children together, Donald and Tammy.

He was a devoted grandfather to Bradley, Jason, Hailey, and Skylar, along with several more grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him.

Donald loved the outdoors — camping in Westport, WA and at Little Rock Park, and fishing whenever he got the chance. He also had a soft spot for collecting coins and treating himself to big toys, like RC racing boats, and he loved hosting BBQs for family and friends. Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, especially for his beloved turkey and sweet baked potatoes with marshmallows.

Donald is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry on his stories and his memory.
