Donald Ashby

Donnie passed into Heavenly peace the morning of August 12th, 2020. He was born to Nora and Paul Ashby on September 12, 1957, in Fruita, Colorado and grew up in Toppenish. He lived his whole life in the Yakima Valley region. He graduated from Toppenish High School in 1976, and following that joined the US Army. He later got his Mechanics certification from Yakima Valley Community College and went on to work in a variety of jobs throughout his life, Donnie loved to wander the countryside, enjoyed the outdoors and loved his animals. Anyone who met him knew his stories well, always entertaining and told with a lot of laughter. Donnie was beloved by many throughout his 62 years on Earth and his spirit will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his father and step father Paul Ashby and Alvin Ashby, mother Nora Ashby, brothers Ron Ashby and Tim Ashby. He is survived by his sister Shirley (Ashby) Thiel, children Tim Hoover, Randy Hoover (Wife-Angela), and Lisa Cortez, grandchildren Samuel, Jesse, Kelsey, Kyle, Mason, and Nora, sister in law Shirley Ashby, nieces Melissa and Mandy, and nephews Michael and Ty.
