Dolores G. Tovar

Dolores Gonzalez Tovar, 97, died of natural causes on September 25, 2025, at Landmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Yakima, Washington. Dolores was born April 27, 1928, in Villa de Fuente, Cuahuila, Mexico, the daughter of Adam and Eloisa Gonzalez.

Dolores was raised in Villa de Fuente, Cuahuila, Mexico. Dolores married Guadalupe (Lupe) Cantu Tovar in the Catholic Church in Piedras Negras, Mexico on December, 29, 1952. Dolores and Lupe moved to the Yakima Valley in 1953 where they raised their five children in Wapato, Washington. They were both active in St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato.

Dolores is survived by her five children; San Juanita Tovar of Seattle, Washington; Jose Guadalupe Tovar of San Francisco, California; Robert Tovar of Port Orchard, Washington; Daniel Tovar of Marysville, Washington; and Ruben Tovar of Selah, Washington. She is also survived by her siblings; Eulogio Gonzalez of Eagle Pass, Texas; Adam Gonzalez of Villa de Fuente, Mexico; Juan Gonzalez of Del Rio, Texas; Marta Ontiveros of Eagle Pass, Texas; Antonio Gonzalez of Eagle Pass, Texas; Rogelio Gonzalez of Toppenish, Washington; Alfredo Gonzalez of Villa de Fuente, Mexico.

Dolores is also survived by 21 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Dolores is preceded in death by her Father Adam Gonzalez; her Mother Eloisa Gonzalez; her husband, Lupe Cantu Tovar; and her brother, Hector Gonzalez.

A viewing will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Valley Hills Funeral Home, 218 W. 3rd St, Wapato, followed by a brief service of remembrance at 11:30am. The graveside service will be held at Wapato Memorial Park immediately after the service.
