Derek Pennington

Derek James Pennington, late of Yakima, Washington, passed away on January 7, 2022, in the loving presence of his wife. Born on September 26, 1982, in Helena, Montana. Derek grew up to be a kind, thoughtful, strong-willed, and wise man. He was raised and attended school in Townsend Montana, and in 2001, began a job alongside his father at a bark plant facility – a place his father had worked for for 32 years. Derek was a loyal, passionate, proud, and supportive husband, father, and grandfather, who always found ways to share meaningful moments with those he loved most. He enjoyed fishing with his family, car rides with his wife, scoping out fun arcades to explore with his kids, cooking, and playing video games. Derek is survived by his wife, Jessica; his children, Destiney (Jonah), Denice (Stephen), and Devin (Alyssa); his grandchildren, Elijah, Delilah, and Payton; his parents, Delbert and Dolores; his grandparents, Rosemary, Dwayne, and Dorothy; his brother, David (Dani); his nephew, Connor; his niece, Laurel; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
