Dennis Franklin Detwiler, beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully in his sleep September 17th, 2019. He was born to Donald Dean and Roseanne Detwiler on October 30th 1953.
Dennis was always happiest when he was helping people. His family and pets were his whole world and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. He had a large family and was especially close to his two brothers Michael and Dean, and to his Aunt Gretchen Montieth. He is preceded in death by both parents, and his siblings. He leaves behind a large family as well. His Faithful Companion Chiquita, children; April, Christina, Sasha(Jerome), Jaida, Denise(Jesse), Cari, and Jacob his nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his family above all else, and was proud of them and the legacy he is leaving behind. As a youngster he spent some time at a Boy’s school in Seattle until he joined the United States Marine Corp. From there he went on to become a Police Officer in Cle Elum where he resided with his wife Jane and their children for a time. He was also a Race Car Driver and mechanic in Spokane. Dad loved meeting new people and learning new trades. He loved driving his 2008 Jack Roush Mustang, and riding his Harleys.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday September 27th 2019 at 11:00am at the Wapato Bible Baptist Church (211 Horschel Rd. Wapato WA 98951). Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps. The family wishes to thank the wonderful ladies that assisted in caring for their Dad, Michelle, Amber and Beca and his Hospice Nurse Leslie.
