Dennielle “Nellie” Bounds, 61, passed away from Lymphoma Cancer on June 18, 2014 in Yakima, Washington surrounded by her family. She was born April 5, 1953 to Raymond and Wanda Ostrander in Yakima WA. Mom grew up and went to school in White Swan and graduated from Zillah High School in 1971. Mom met her soul mate, Jay Bounds, in high school and eventually married him on September 26, 1972. After high school she went straight into the workforce, landing her first job as a teller at Rainier Bank in Wapato, WA. Nellie spent 25 years as a banker before leaving to stay at home and care for her son, Brent. While staying at home with Bub, she worked part-time at the Zillah Mini Mart where she touched the lives of so many people.
Mom’s kids and grandbabies were her most prized possessions. While growing up, our mom spent every evening and Saturday sitting in a basketball gym cheering on her kids. Nellie was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Many admired Nell for her sense of humor, contagious smile, and huge heart. She made a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path.
After Nellie’s kids were grown up, she spent most of her time chasing or making cookies with her grandbaby Bella. If mom wasn’t babysitting, she was hitting up her “secret” machine out at Legends Casino before heading to Bingo with her twin sister Denniece.
Dennielle is survived by her husband, Jerry Bounds (Jay); her children Brent Bounds of Zillah, WA, Brooke Bounds and wife Karmen Devore of Vancouver, WA and Brandie Valadez and husband Armando also from Zillah, Washington. Dennielle also had 4 grandchildren, Teanna Bentley, Issabella Valadez, Tyler Torrez, Hilary Devore and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters Darlene Stark (Ron), Sharron Delp (Ed), Denniece Steinmetz, and Debbie Jorgensen (Dean) and brother Ray Ostrander (Wanda).
