Denise Monica Roscom, 56, of Granger, WA, passed away on March 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Denise was born on January 6, 1969, to Carol Gomez and Alexander Roscom in Lakeport, California. Denise was a tribal member of Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians. She spent her early years in California before her family relocated to Toppenish, Washington, in June 1983.
At just 15 years old, Denise began her first job at Scarlett Ranches, packing fruit. She later dedicated 30 years to the Toppenish Nursing Home & Rehab Center, where she worked her way from housekeeper to caregiver. Her passion for caregiving extended far beyond her profession—she was a fierce advocate for her colleagues and took great pride in serving as a union steward.
In 1995, Denise met Patrick Guzman, and together they raised a family of seven children. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who cared deeply for those around her.
Denise is survived by her mother, Carol Gomez; her siblings Gina and Daniel; her children, Bianca Roscom, Kerstin Rivera, Amy Roscom, Geriko Guzman, Kira Guzman, Brendan Guzman, and stepdaughter Jordyn Guzman; and her ten grandchildren, Evan, Zayne, Kai, a baby boy on the way, Silas, Darius, Eli, Adelya, and Jasiah.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alexander Roscom; her uncle, Richard Gomez; her grandson, Noah Gasca; and her mother-in-law, Frances Guzman.
A funeral service will be held at Zillah Valley Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Outlook Cemetery. A viewing will take place on Tuesday, March 18, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
