Our loving mother Debbie (Bainter) Carlson passed away on November 10, 2013 after complications due to pneumonia.
Debbie was born in Yakima, WA on July 29, 1955 to Ted & Marge Bainter and spent her younger years in Zillah, WA. While attending high school she worked at the family’s restaurant, the Squeeze Inn. She also participated in clubs and school functions until she graduated from Zillah High in 1973. She later went on to attend Western Washington University and then returned to the Yakima Valley where she worked for the Toppenish Review. She was given the quirky name “flying fingers” for her quick and accurate typing skills.
Debbie went on to marry Robert Jay Carlson in 1987 and had two loving children Molly & Jeff. She was a stay at home mom until she took a position at the Yakima Valley Regional Library, where she worked for 11 years.
Debbie was a genuine and loving person with a great sense of humor and a knack for being the life of the party. In her free time she enjoyed reading, buffing up on history, listening to music, taking care of her children as well as her dog Bailey.
Debbie is survived by her daughter Molly Carlson of Yakima; son Jeff Carlson of Greely, CO; brothers, Norm of Bellevue, WA, Greg (Maryanne) of Selah, WA, and Rod (Renee) Bainter of Zillah, WA; 3 nieces Beth Husted of Vancouver, WA; Laura Bainter of Cle Elum, WA; Kate Bainter of Yakima, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Marge Bainter.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah, WA followed by a reception at the Squeeze Inn event center.
