TOPPENISH - David "Davey" Lawrence Stalcup passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Yakima, WA. David was born on May 22, 1980 in Yakima, WA to David Stalcup and Myrna (Howell) Washines. He was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation and grew up with his family in the Toppenish/Wapato area. Davey graduated from Toppenish Senior High School in 1999. After graduation, he moved "down under" to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia where he studied at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and received a certificate in Business Management. Most recently, Davey was enrolled for Medical Coding classes at Perry Technical Institute. Growing up Davey liked to play basketball and softball, but his favorite pastime was spent outdoors playing golf and he participated in several golf tournaments throughout the years. When not golfing, he liked to watch the NBA (MJ and KD were his favorite players) but he preferred to watch and cheer for the Seahawks. Davey was also a believer of the Lord and was often found reading his bible. He blessed many of us by sharing verses that were his favorites or how they fit into his current approach to life. Davey was also an animal lover and growing up would often try and convince his mom to get him a puppy. Davey will also be remembered for his sense of humor, laughter, hugs, his quirky stories, and his favorite saying "I love you infinity and back…for ever…and ever. David is survived by his parents Myrna and Anthony Washines of Toppenish, WA; his pride and joy whom he loved with all his heart - his son, David Mateo Navaro-Stalcup; sisters, Connie Stalcup-Batin and Devon Stalcup, both of Toppenish, WA; brothers, Aric Washines of Granger, WA, Windcloud Washines and Whirlwind Washines, both of Toppenish, WA; Grandmother Ramona Ahto of Seattle, WA; uncles, Lawrence Howell and Jesse Goudy; aunts, Harriet Strom, Maxine George and Regina Howell; and several cousins, nieces and nephews and friends from the Satus, Toppenish, Wapato and White Swan and surrounding areas. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, John "Bunny" and Mabel (Finley) Howell, Pete Brown, Lena Meninick, Vivian (Ina) Meninick, and Fidelia Meninick; uncles Leroy Howell, Vernon Howell, Ross George, Toby Goudy, and Oscar Finley; aunts Bertha Elwell and Patricia Goudy; great-uncle Duane Clark and great-aunts Delores Clark Amour and Gloria Clark. Dressing Services and viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato, WA. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 15. 2022 at 9am at the 1910 Indian Shaker Church in White Swan. WA. Interment will be at 1910 Indian Shaker Church Cemeterv in White Swan.
