TOPPENISH - David "Davey" Lawrence Stalcup passed away on Sunday, December 11,
2022 in Yakima, WA. David was born on May 22, 1980 in Yakima, WA to David Stalcup
and Myrna (Howell) Washines. He was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation and
grew up with his family in the Toppenish/Wapato area. Davey graduated from Toppenish
Senior High School in 1999. After graduation, he moved "down under" to Brisbane,
Queensland, Australia where he studied at QUT (Queensland University of Technology)
and received a certificate in Business Management. Most recently, Davey was enrolled for
Medical Coding classes at Perry Technical Institute. Growing up Davey liked to play
basketball and softball, but his favorite pastime was spent outdoors playing golf and he
participated in several golf tournaments throughout the years. When not golfing, he liked to
watch the NBA (MJ and KD were his favorite players) but he preferred to watch and cheer
for the Seahawks.
Davey was also a believer of the Lord and was often found reading his bible. He blessed
many of us by sharing verses that were his favorites or how they fit into his current
approach to life. Davey was also an animal lover and growing up would often try and
convince his mom to get him a puppy. Davey will also be remembered for his sense of
humor, laughter, hugs, his quirky stories, and his favorite saying "I love you infinity and
back…for ever…and ever.
