David Jack

February 16, 1953 — August 28, 2019

David Lee Jack passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at his home in Toppenish, WA. David was born and raised in Satus, WA. He was proudly enrolled with the Yakama Nation and worked with Yakama Nation Roads for 30 years. He was a dedicated, hard working man. Through his youth you would catch him rodeo chasing, he competed in wild horse racing. He played basketball and was a team member for the Satus Warriors. If there was one thing David taught us, it was to take time and enjoy your life-never take these gifted days too seriously. He retired at 62 and enjoyed his days cruising the back roads in his truck, and hitting his favorite spot on the hill to read his morning newspaper-and of course, watching those Seahawks with the other beloved fans at the FOE #2229. David’s many hobbies included reading, mechanics, artist, hunting, fishing the Columbia River, and woodworking. He loved his family, friends and grandchildren very dearly. He is smiling down on us, with that mischievous grin and twinkling eyes. David is preceded in death by his grandparents Louis and Rose (Telakish) Jack, Gilbert and Annie (Napier) Smartlowit. His father, Raymond Jack, brother Darrell Jack, Duane Jack, Luton Jack, Eugene Jack nephews Nathan Jack and Wally Comenout. Survived by his Mother, Leona Jack. Sisters, Myrna Jack and Rena Jack. Children, Dwayne Jack, Mishani Jack (Mario Gonzalez), and Quinn James (Sarah Davis) Grandchildren, Kaiden Gonzalez, Quinn Kobe-Lee James, Kodi James, and Shania James. Stepchildren, Katchina Andy, Jennifer Arthur, Jonathan Spino. And numerous family members from the Jack & Smartlowit families. Dressing services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Overnight services will be held at the Toppenish Community Center. Burial will follow at the Logie-Umtuch Cemetery. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of David Jack, please visit our flower store.
