David Hill

August 24, 1970 — October 1, 2024

David Wayne Hill was born on August 24, 1970, to Valerie Jean (Plumlee) Hill at St. Joseph’s Franciscan Hospital, Tacoma, WA., and raised by Valerie and Patrick Hill, in the Brownstown and White Swan area. He attended Wapato Grade School, and later Harrah Elementary, and White Swan Middle and High School and Perry Technical Institute (HVAC-R Program). David comes from a long line of cowboys; one of his favorites was his Grandpa Floyd Plumlee. He participated in the Cayuse Junior Rodeo Association, Washington State High School Rodeo Association, Central Washington Ropers and Riders, ACTRA, USTRC, and King Mountain Indian Rodeo Association. He loved team roping and built an arena with his father-in-law Carroll at the Ranch and they practiced and taught me to rope as well. It made his day to have family and friends come over and practice. He loved heading for new ropers he was an amazing hand and never ceased to amaze me in the arena. A high light for him was winning a buckle with my dad Carroll at a jackpot and later his cousin J.R. at Wiley City Rodeo. He loved being able to Indian Rodeo, he considered those cowboys family. He loved meeting up with them down the road. In 2017 he decided he wanted to be his own boss. We started Hill Mechanical, LLC a Native Owned Small Business. He loved his work; he liked being able to provide affordable HVAC work to our tribal members. It was a very hard decision for him to make to close shop in 2022 due to his ALS Diagnosis. David continued being our Superman throughout his decline and we continued just loving each other through the trials and tribulations brought on by this horrible disease. One blessing was that he was home full-time to enjoy our Grandson Weston. He was a bright light for David throughout. As a family we have had the honor to share so much love and so many wonderful memories with him, from raising cattle and helping his Grandpa Ben and dad Pat out, to riding, roping, hunting, camping and watching his beloved Seahawks and the Mariners. He knew more about football than you could imagine. His physical presence here beside us is and will be greatly missed. We know he is always with us in our hearts and minds though. David was preceded in death by his dad Patrick Hill, his Grandpa Floyd Plumlee, his Grandma Violet (Livermore) Robinson, Great Niece Hallie Raye Jess, Father-in-law Carroll Palmer (his other dad at heart), His Grandpa Ben Hill and Grandma Margaret (Nicolas) Hill. David is survived by his wife Stacy (Palmer) Hill, his daughter Tayler Hill, son Colton Hill, daughter Makenzie Hill (Dillion), daughter Morgan Hill (Nick), and sons Kal-El and Mykal Palmer, and Grandson Weston Hill.
