David (Dave) was born in Georgetown, Texas, on July 11, 1934. He moved to Washington in the early 1940s with his family, where they settled in Toppenish. He attended Toppenish High School, where he was the star of the boxing team. He married his high school sweetheart, Maria (Mary) Maltos, on December 18, 1954, and they spent an amazing 70 years together.
Dave had several careers throughout his lifetime, including delivering El Ranchito tortillas when the company was first established, working in a factory, counseling, and driving trucks and buses. However, his true passion was being outdoors, working the land, or driving his tractor. A devout Christian, Dave always sought the truth of the Lord without religion clouding it, ultimately finding his home with the Church of God 7th Day in Toppenish.
Dave was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—the best dad a daughter could ever ask for. His love for his wife and family was boundless, always striving to do and give whatever he could for them.
He is survived by the love of his life, Maria (Quela) Davila of Toppenish; two children, Mariangelica (Totie) Davila of Toppenish and Joel Davila of Toppenish; and seven grandchildren: Jereme Park, Jason Davila (Allison), Jamie Park (Brian), Jillian Park, Jacob Davila (Darian), Leiah Davila, and Sarah Bernath (Jason). He also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren: Aubree Park, Mason Park, Angelina Davila, Oliver Davila, Jack Davila, Dario Davila, Victoria Garcia, Henry Davila, Kenadee Park, Sofia Garcia, Logan Bernath, Ezequiel Garcia, Isaac Davila, and Grayson Davila, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dave’s unwavering faith, love for his family, and passion for the land will always be remembered and cherished by those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Dario D. Davila and Dianno A. Davila.
