David passed away on Sunday, September 1st, at home alongside his family, just like he wanted. David was a carpenter by trade and ran his own construction company for many years in Issaquah and Bellevue and the surrounding areas. He even built some fabulous decks for a couple of local celebrities. When he would take us to a ball game at the Kingdome, he would proudly point out the column he helped build! He was a great Fisherman! Caught many a Salmon or Halibut in his day! And used to keep his Smoker, made of an old refrigerator, full of Salmon! David was also a scratch golfer, who retired to Arizona to play golf!
He made it finally back to Washington and lived out his days, on a beautiful piece of land by the river in Naches, with beautiful Mountain View’s out his lazy boy window of mountain goats and herds of deer grazing in his front yard. It was a good life overall with some ups and downs but filled with fierce love for his wife and his family. Always was a wonderful helper to his extended family, especially with his carpentry skills.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet, her children Candy and Mark Brown, Sean Collins and his son Alec Collins and Savannah, Karrie Collins and Mohammed Abdelal, and his daughter Dee Salazar. His brother Thomas “Danny” Collin’s, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and cousins, aunties, and friends! So many who loved Dave. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA on October 3, 2024, at 3:00PM or 1500 in military time. A gathering to tell tales of Dave’s wild adventures will be held afterwards at his Daughters home in Auburn.
