Darrell Scott

Darrell Joseph Scott Sr. passed away on October 19th, 2023, peacefully in his home one door down from his childhood home in Harrah. He loved the Lord and is with Christ Jesus in paradise today. He was born to Lillian Mable and Edgar Allen Scott on November 24th, 1950. He graduated from White Swan High School in 1969 and married his beloved wife, Yolanda, the next year on November 9, 1970. Darrell is survived by his daughter Heather Lyon and her fiancé Jose Pacheco, son Darrell Scott Jr. and his wife Christina, and son Christopher Scott. He is survived as well by his dearly loved grandchildren; Whitney, Joseph, Cody, Emma, Hannah, and Lukas Scott, Emily and Sally Lyon, Toni and Connor Stanley, and great grandchildren Koleman and Kash Brewer, and Reese Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife Yolanda, and his siblings Merle Scott, Marlene Hall, and Jean Marsh, as well as dear friends Jerry Weddle and Jack Labbee. After working transporting bees, he trucked long-haul across the country and spent many years at LTI Milky Way driving locally. After retirement he was hired as a chauffeur for Jack and Lorraine Labbee but instead found friendship and companionship for a lifetime. In the last year and a half, he served on the Harrah Town Council. The career he loved most was playing Santa Clause across the Yakima valley. Year round he would invite any kid that recognized him away from his home at the North Pole to sit on his knee and share their Christmas list with him. A celebration of Darrell’s life will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday November 17th, 2023, at the Harrah Grace Brethren Church, 3701 Harrah Rd.
