Darlene Morey

Eva Darlene Morey, 82, of Yakima went to heaven to live with our Lord and our family that went before her on April 12, 2014. She passed away peacefully with her 2 daughters by her side. Darlene was born to Raymond & Zelma Franklin in Eagle Colorado on June 6, 1931. She had a very happy, loving, and funny spirit. She loved life, animals, and her family. Darlene worked as a laundry attendant at the Toppenish Community Hospital for 17 years. Some of her talents included being an artist and a seamstress. She will be greatly missed. Darlene is survived by her 2 daughters Doreen (Van) Vanderpool of Granger and Donna (Randy) Dodd of Yakima; 9 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded death by 2 sons Dean (Teana) and Dewayne (Ruth) VanNiewenhuizen. Special thanks to her wonderful caregivers and Memorial Hospice for their kindness. Viewing will be held from 1pm-5pm Thursday, April 17 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. A graveside service will be held at the Zillah Cemetery 1 PM Friday, April 18, 2014. There will be a reception provided by the Granger Seventh-day Adventist Church following the service at the church. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
