Darlene Anderson

Darlene Anna Anderson passed away on July 3, 2016 in Sunnyside, WA. She was born April 30, 1938 in Stanley, ND to Hertha and Gilbert Gandrud. Darlene is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lyle Anderson of Outlook, WA, who was the apple of her eye, brother Merlin & wife Jean Gandrud of Racine, WI, sons Murray & wife Chris of Gresham, OR, Lonny & and wife Keri of Manhattan, MT, daughter Shelley & husband Ron Campbell of Tonasket, WA, 4 grandchildren Matthew, Ron, Brandon & Ian, along with many nephews and nieces. Darlene spent her early years in North Dakota, attending grade school in Tagus, high school in Stanley, and college in Bismarck. Her passion was working outdoors spending time in her yard. She also loved to bake and was famous to her family and friends for her scrumptious buns, bread, and wonderful lefse. Darlene and Lyle were North Dakota farmers, relocating with their 3 children from there to Outlook in 1969. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Sunnyside since 1970, serving as treasurer for 38 years. She was employed by the John Deere dealerships in Sunnyside from 1969 until retiring in 2000. She was dearly loved by family and friends and will be truly missed. Viewing and visitation will be held 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday July 8,2016 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday July 9, 2016 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1106 Taylor St, Sunnyside, WA. followed by graveside services at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. A reception will be held after graveside services at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
