Daniel Gutierrez

March 26, 1964 — August 25, 2023

Daniel, "Big Dan" , Dan, Uncle Danny Gutierrez was born in Toppenish, WA March 26, 1964. He was the middle child in a family of five. The eldest siblings Tomm & Delores, younger sisters Denise & Doreen. Danny was a Wapato High School graduate, class of 82. He loved the fact that he was born and bred on his beloved Yakama Indian Nation Reservation. He loved the land, the people, and the peaceful quality of life the valley had to offer. Big Dan liked to fish, and was an avid bowler in his younger years, as well as a pool player. Jewelry was also a passion of his, Turquoise & Silver being his first choices. He would often be called upon to bring his "famous Spaghetti" to dinner with friends or a BBQ. He was a great lover of music, all styles oldies, R&B, Classical, Reggae, Country, but most of all Rock n' Roll. Especially ZZ TOP. Ultimately you could be guaranteed he would never miss an opportunity to compliment a pretty woman. Especially brunettes, his fave. Big Dann forged many great lifelong friendships. Some of which we're sure we will never know, but his infectious smile was always on display. He loved his friends (& women) dearly. Near and far. His friends meant the world to him. Thank you all for loving our brother. Danny worked in various warehouses in the valley. His main career path lead him to Sonoco, where he worked for over 20 years as a forklift driver on the second shift and ran the Shipping & Recieving department on the off shift like a boss. We all know the thing that Big Dan loved the most was his football team, the LA Rams. He especially loved placing bets against all of the other NCF West Teams and all the ribbing that came with it. So much so that for his service he requested that everyone wear their favorite teams gear and GO RAMS! Danny is survived by the daughter of his heart Dina Alvear, and his most precious grandaughter Harmony. He is also survived by his brother Tomm Gutierrez (Yakima), Delores Gutierrez (Wapato), Denise Juarez (Kirkland), Doreen (Sammy) Sundet (Grandview), Lydia (Bill) Plummer (Eugene).
