Dale S. Loucks, age 93, of Yakima passed away July 27, 2018. He was born on November 1, 1924 in Curlew, Washington. Dale is preceded in death by one son, Stanley and one grandson Ryan; his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. He leaves behind his loving wife Ellen, one daughter Christine (Steve) and six grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dale joined the Army Air Corps in 1942 and became a radio operator on a B-24 Liberator Bomber. His crew flew missions out of England and on their 19th mission they were shot down near Brussels, Belgium. After being with the underground for two weeks he was captured in Brussels by the German Gestapo. He became a Prison of War until the war ended. Dale received the Purple Heart, the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters, and many more. Dale was a member of the VFW, DAV, and the TriCities chapter of the Ex POW’s.
Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, wood working, reading, playing cards, cross word puzzles, and traveling. Dale was in real estate sales in Seattle and Yakima, then in 1964 began a lifetime career in auto sales.
Private family burial was held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park with Military Honors.
