I lived a glorious 74 years and was born May 14, a birthday date I shared with my bride of 43 years, Sheila. I was not ready to leave this world as I am surrounded by fabulous family and the most wonderful friends who gave me love, smiles and adventures. You all take good care of your hearts because that is what got me.
Being raised on my dad‘s sailboat around the lakes of Meadville PA, life on the water was second nature to me. My early years took me to the Great Lakes as a merchant mariner. My real job came with Northwest Airlines and after 36 years, I retired. During that time, we traveled, attended bowling and golf tournaments, added RV’s to the mix and made lifetime friends.
Spending time at our train Caboose at Priest Lake, ID, gave our families and friends plenty of time for remodeling, cutting wood, clearing land, campfires, water and land activities, and fond memories of great togetherness.
When the open water called, we sailed with my parents, Jacque and Al, or my NIPP group got together and bare-boated around Key West and St Thomas. Rafting the Snake River gave me and my 2 counterparts thrills of a lifetime!
My life would not have been complete without the love and support of my bride, Sheila; son Greg (Cheryl and Brenna); brothers-in-law Ryan, Thomas, Steve, Jeff and Charlie; sisters-in-law Lee, Gail, Sheri, Jana and Mary Ann and their extended families; the whole Bowen clan; and my dear friends always ready for an adventure or closing the day with a Makers Mark.
A toast to your health, wealth, happiness and the time to enjoy them.
Curt.
