Cruz Solis

Cruz Tijerina Solís passed away peacefully on October 8, 2017. Cruz was born in General Bravo, Nuevoleon, Mexico on May 3, 1936. Cruz moved to Wapato, WA in 1957 where he met the love of his life, Mary Miramontez. They later married and had 5 children. Cruz was a farm laborer most of his life. His hobbies consisted of playing cards with friends and at the casino. He enjoyed making trips to Reno, Nevada to visit the different casinos. Cruz loved working outside in the yard growing beautiful flowers and making sure his yard was nice and green. He loved going to dances and boy could he dance. He loved to talk about current events and politics. He could talk about politics for hours. He is going to be dearly missed by his family. Cruz is survived by his wife, Mary Solis, and children Cruz Jr (Connie) Solis, Diane(Efren) Diaz, Richard Solis, Caroline (Celso Camacho) Solis, and Carlos (Mana) Solis, 2 brothers, Ramon (Ilda) Solis, and Santiago (Juanita) Solis from Texas, 13 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Cruz is preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Manuela Solis, brothers Felipe Solis, Antonio Solis, and Jose Solis, all of Texas, Juanita Garcia of Modesto, CA, and Pedro Solis of Toppenish. Viewing will be held 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Saint Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato followed by graveside services at Reservation Community Memorial Park Cemetery in Wapato. A celebration of life will be held after graveside services at the Wapato Community Center. Condolences can be sent to www.valleyhillsfh.com.
