Corine “Doris” Pauline (Webster) Stonemetz, 89, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2016, at her home surrounded by family on her way to meet her Lord and reunite with her husband. She was born May 23, 1926, in Scio, New York, to Howard and Bessie (Baham) Webster.
Corine married Donald Stonemetz at the tender age of 17 and moved with him to Portland, OR, where they both worked in the shipyards. Shortly after the birth of their first son they moved to Naches Heights, Washington. The years there they added five more children to their family.
In 1963 the family moved to the Lower Yakima Valley, living at Granger and then at Outlook. At the death of her husband, Donald, she and her daughter Joanne moved to Sunnyside where they resided until her death.
Corine worked the fruit and vegetable lines at various warehouses throughout her working career. She was an avid gardener until her later years. Her flowerbeds were the best in the valley.
Corine is survived by her loving children: Don (Renay) Stonemetz; Carol (Larry) Knuth; Gary Stonemetz, Sandy Killian, Joanne Young, one son-in-law Bob Corkrum; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and one sister.
Corine was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald, her oldest daughter Kay Corkrum, two sons-in-law Larry Killian and Joe Young, and daughter-in-law Margie Stonemetz, and her parents,
