Cody Trent Shike, of Wapato, WA, passed away unexpectedly on September 9th, 2025. Cody was only 24 years old. Our family is devastated and shocked by his sudden loss. Cody was born on October 28th, 2000, in Toppenish, WA.

Cody attended school from elementary to high school in Wapato. Cody graduated from Wapato High School in 2019. He played football all 4-years in high school. After Cody graduated from High School, he was unsure of his plans which led to him embarking on a new adventure, moving to Phoenix, AZ in October 2020. It was a memorable drive from his small hometown of Wapato, WA to his new soon to be home. He made sure to visit family at least once a year and preferred driving the 19 hours. Cody truly loved his time while living in Phoenix so much so, you would have thought he was born and raised there. One of his favorite things to do was fish with friends.

As a child, Cody lived and grew up in Wapato, Washington. He was an only child for over 10 years until he became a big brother to his two younger sisters. He was an amazing big brother and had a tremendous amount of love for those two. Cody enjoyed watching various sports, especially football, his favorite team, Seattle Seahawks. He also enjoyed watching his sisters play various sports and their number one fan.

Cody was the first grandchild of Joey & Valerie Shike, who was almost like the son they didn’t have, due to them having all daughters. Cody also had a special bond with each of his aunties, Errika, Mabel & Marla. Cody received an Indian name as a baby and again when a teenager. He shared his Indian name, “Tum-awa-tit” with one of his other grandpas, Jamie Shike.

Cody is survived by his mother Rosetta Shike, his sisters, Jocelynn & Jazzlyn Bibles, who he affectionately called “Thing 1 & Thing 2”, his grandparents Joey & Valerie Shike, his aunties, Errika (Joe & Family), Mabel (Mason & Family), Marla (Kerby & Family). Cody is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, other family members and friends who he loved. Cody is preceded in death by his great grandpa, James Shike Sr, who he called “big papa” and his Grandpa David Shike.
