Claudia Kallenberger was born May 19, 1936 in Colfax, WA to Orbie A. Mael and Sallie Packerd Mael. She attended school in Pullman. In May 1953 she married Aubrey Pond, had four kids, Evert, Karen, Orbie Kim, and Jayne. In 1965 she moved to Yakima and married “Bud” Delano
Kallenberger and gained a Son, Kelly. Claudia went to work at Frank Wear Cleaners. In 1970,
Claudia and Bud bought a house on Keys Road. In 1972 she went to work at One Hour Martenizing until 1981 or 1982. She then left to Alaska with Bud, and came back in December 1985. Worked for Sullivans as a presser than later as a seamstress. She also worked a short time at Roy's Ace
Hardware in 1998 or 1999, then helped her daughter Karen with Happy Hemmers.
Claudia enjoyed water aerobics with friends at the YMCA in her downtime. She enjoyed life and survived cancer 9 times from the age of 24 to 87. Claudia is survived by Karen, Jayne, and Kelly. Grandchildren, Leonard, Justin, Jimmy, Kelly Noel and Jacob D. Great grand children, Lenny, Orbie, Adam, Isla and Jourdan .As well as one great-great granddaughter, Carolyn and many nieces and nephews whom she was known to as Auntie May.
Please join us Thursday, July 6th at 10am for Graveside Service at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Claudia’s honor. She will be laid to rest between her two sons, Evert and Orbie Kim.
