Clarence Vickers passed into the arms of his savior on July 12, 2019 in Yakima. Clarence was born on February 14, 1934 in Rush Creek, Arkansas and traveled to the Yakima Valley at the age of 15. Clarence met and married Virginia Ripley of Yakima in 1953 and they shared 66 years together.
Clarence had many jobs in life, but his greatest calling was to be a servant of the Lord. Clarence and Virginia pastored Cowiche Community Church for over 25 years. Clarence held his faith until the end and is now walking on those streets of gold. “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Vickers of Cowiche, 4 sons, Leon (Pat) Vickers of Cowiche, Lonie Vickers of Cowiche, Ron (Cyndee) Vickers of Yakima, and Donald (Ronda) Vickers of Yakima. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Clarence is preceded in death by his daughter, Jo and sister Patsy.
