Clair Anderson

Clair Eugene Anderson, 91, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2016 at his home on Naches Heights. Eldest son of Eunice D. and Bernard H. Anderson, he was born in Yakima in 1925. He lived and worked his life on land originally purchased by his parents in 1921. A 1943 graduate of Cowiche High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Gladys Joy (Jo) Weyrick in 1946. Together they raised four grateful children. Jo passed in 1985. He was married in 1986 to long time family friend, Helen Albano who passed in 2012. Clair was an apple and cherry orchardist on Naches Heights until his retirement in 1995. He served his community 40 years as a volunteer firefighter for District #9 including 22 years as Fire Chief. Clair was very mechanically inclined, always working on machinery and vehicles for family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and growing things. He is remembered as a kind, generous, gentle man who loved to laugh. He is survived by his brother Keith (LaDonna) Anderson, children Karen (Duncan) Brown, Douglas (Deborah) Anderson, Evan Anderson, Berneta Wilson, step-son Bob Albano, nieces Tamera (Gary) Tollefson and Gayle (George) Dowd, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park at 10 a.m. on October 20, 2016.
